Last November 27th, the Covenant of Mayors Office (CoM) organized a workshop on monitoring energy poverty and indicators on a regional and local level. The event brought together a selected group of some 20 high-level stakeholders from across Europe, and ASSIST project was selected. Marta Garcia from Ecoserveis represented the Consortium during the meeting.
Energy poverty is understood as a combination of two main macro-factors: i) availability of adequate energy services, and ii) inability to afford basic energy services. The workshop provided a space for discussing how to assess the inability to afford basic energy services and the availability of adequate energy services. These discussions culminated in a summary document to be used to further develop the Covenant of Mayors Energy Poverty reporting and monitoring framework.
It was a pleasure to participate on the event! And thanks CoM office for consider ASSIST project as a relevant actor in energy poverty in Europe.
